The same standard applies to every club we build. Our recommendations are built in-house, to spec, by people who understand what they’re building and why.

Our fitters are hired based on fitting experience, teaching experience, and customer service focus. Each is trained in the same methodology, so the process and the standard are identical whichever studio you visit. Pick the fitter whose schedule and location suit you.
Bobby founded the fitting studio at Barton Creek in 2018. He has been an instructor, club fitter, and club designer and builder for over twenty years, with a background in hospitality prior to the golf industry. Known for his infectious laugh and eclectic golf attire, Bobby has fit everyone from first-timers to PGA Tour professionals.
Matt brings deep fitting, teaching, and golf operations experience to the team. A PGA Professional and former head pro, Matt now focuses on helping golfers get the right clubs in their bags. And if your game is really struggling, he’s got you covered there, too - his background in equine therapy and his Eagle Scout experience mean even the worst slice won’t scare him.
Tristan leads our Charlotte fitting studio, bringing experience in golf development, operations, and club fitting. He left a Master Fitter role with one of the leading golf club manufacturers to join Next Gear and build our Charlotte presence. As a Logistics Officer in the U.S. Army Reserves, Tristan is used to handling operations far more complex than tuning up your golf game - so we know he’s up for the task.
Clayton is a PGA Associate and golf professional specializing in club fitting and player development. He takes a player-first approach to fitting - listening to each golfer, establishing a baseline, and using data and ball flight to find equipment that fits their swing, goals, and game. Clayton volunteers with First Tee, helping junior golfers build skills, confidence, and a love of the game. His background in sales, communication, and relationship management has shaped his approach to customer service.

Club building isn't an afterthought at Next Gear - it's part of the same operation as the fitting. Our build team executes the specs your fitter puts together, working to tolerances that matter for performance, not just aesthetics.
David started building and repairing clubs at a young age because he kept breaking them while playing - not because he was angry at them, but because he played hard and wanted to understand how to fix his tools. That curiosity became a career, including time with a major golf retailer and as a Master Builder for a custom club manufacturer. David brings that depth of experience to every build, with a focus on getting the details right and building every club exactly to spec.
Levi pairs exceptional attention to detail with club building and repair experience from a major golf retailer. Since joining Next Gear, he’s been building clubs to exacting specs and has dialed in our entire inventory management system. If there’s a better way to organize it, track it, or build it, Levi will find it.
